Jukka Korpi

I am a Finnish born culture worker in several different disciplines based in Stockholm, Sweden since 1987. I was studying Choreography at The University College of Dance in Stockholm during 1989-1992.

After that I have mostly been working as a freelance choreographer and a dancer both with my own productions, but also in several independent theatre and dance groups and institutions until 2012. Between 2012-2023 I have been working as an Artistic Director for the Swedish-Finnish Theatre UusiTeatteri, which most of all works with new dramatics for children and youth. Since august 2023 I am back as a freelance art worker, working very broadly in the branch, mostly with Performing Arts, but nowadays even with Literature.

My debut book as a writer, Månen sover, a bilingual children’s book with illustrations was published in spring 2024 by the Swedish publishing company Cookies n Dragons. My latest dance solo Four eight, which was also my comeback to dance, premiered dec 2024 on The European Festival of The Night in Korpilombolo, Sweden.
