Evita (Evanthia) Stavrou is an innovative artist and project manager whose work bridges the realms of creative expression and cultural impact. With over a decade of experience in independent events, curation and project management and production, Evita specializes in creative projects that prioritize sustainability, particularly through the use of reusable materials and the intricate art of origami.
Her main medium is paper and natural materials, inspired by the beauty of nature, light and shadow, architecture and geometry. Her journey in the arts has led her to roles as a creative producer and events director for international cultural initiatives, with a special focus on arts, music and community-based awareness campaigns. She first discovered her passion for paper crafting through creating personalized paper gifts, which led her to experiment with techniques like basket weaving with newspaper. This practice allows her to explore the unique duality of paper: its fragility and its hidden strength.
In recent years, Evita has shifted her focus to interactive installations, using paper as her primary medium. Her projects often engage the community directly, addressing social issues such as gender inequality and gender-based violence. Through these installations, Evita combines the aesthetics of paper art with a call for social awareness, transforming delicate materials into powerful statements that invite reflection and inspire change.
