My artistic research is based on the medium of painting to address and compare notions of identity, consciousness, humanity and representation. It focuses on a pictorial and conceptual dimension where content and form converge. I use painting as a way to stay in the world and to live in a better world.
I use old bed sheets as a base for my paintings. I paint on them with watercolours that create a blurred image, with uncertain outlines. The painting thus becomes something different from itself, an echo, a memory of an image.
The evoked images evade immediate recognition, mirroring the ever-changing perception of reality, becoming a metaphor for our vital condition.
