Ash painting

The sustainability of egg tempera paint comes from it being sourced from natural, biodegradable and found components. Linseed oil is non-toxic and easy to reapply. Eggs can be bought or collected directly from poultry. Ash is made from powdered leftover charcoal.

The technique aims to inspire creativity and exploration of making your own paints using any materials you have on-hand. Making your own paints allows you to experiment with texture, viscosity and opacity.
