The artwork is crafted from recycled paper and applied to a repurposed IKEA shelving unit, demonstrating sustainable material reuse. By repurposing discarded cardboard, this piece helps divert waste from landfills, giving old materials a new life and reducing the need for new resources. The use of recycled paper minimizes environmental impact compared to using virgin paper, which requires significant water, energy, and raw materials.

Recycled paper is created by breaking down discarded cardboard into pulp, which is then reformed into textured surfaces. This process transforms waste materials into new artistic forms, emphasizing sustainability and creative reuse. The method allows for customization in texture, flexibility, and color, making it adaptable for various applications.

Latex, when dry, gives the work durability. Thanks to latex, it is possible to achieve color transparency and elasticity, which helps in the creation of a painting. Acrylic also adds elasticity, dries quickly, and allows for achieving the desired shade when mixed with pigment. Paper is very easy to use, and by mixing the mentioned materials, various effects can be easily achieved. Paper is an excellent absorbent and perfectly soaks up latex, acrylic, and pigment. This mixture also adheres well to any surface. It can be used not only on a board but also on stone, fabrics, walls, and almost any surface.

Process using cardboards, latex, acrylic paint and canvas or wooden surfaces:
  1. Breaking Down the Material: Cardboard is soaked multiple times in hot water to remove glue and paint, softening the fibers and turning it into pulp.
  2. Drying and Mixing: Once the pulp is dried, latex is mixed with water in specific proportions to achieve the desired texture and flexibility.
  3. Color Customization: Acrylic paint is added to the mixture if color adjustment is needed. This step allows for a range of tones and finishes.
  4. Application: The prepared pulp is spread onto a chosen surface, such as canvas or wooden panels, creating a textured, layered effect.
