Tasia Sempsi

Mrs. Tasia Sempsi is a Civil Engineer and Mixed Media artist. She lives and works in Thessaloniki, Greece. She’s an AKTO School graduate, a holder of a BA Hons in Fine Arts & New Media from Middlesex University and has studied handicraft glass (fusing), silversmithing and goldsmithing.

She has attended multiple seminars on arts and artistic techniques. She experiments with several materials and techniques, thus exploring, through the many levels of her artworks, various forms of special visual and artistic interest.

She creates Collages and Assemblages, using upcycled papers and monotypes, created by herself, as well as using stencils, textiles, fibers, and glasses she experiments on, thus trying to give a second life to diverse objects, that indeed carry traces of their previous form and existence.

She’s interested in preserving memory (that of the family, society, the collective). She collects old family pictures, which she combines with pieces of old, used family clothes, handmade laces – remains of another era, this way pursuing for the time’s decay to signal, through memory, the beginning of a new creation. 

She has successfully organized 5 personal exhibitions and has participated in numerous collective ones.
