Welcome to the Second Newsletter of the E-ART Project

We’re excited to share the highlights from our recent implementation of the E-ART project!

We held our  Mid-TermInternational Meeting in Matera, Italy, on October 23-24, 2024. Over two productive days, we focused on key project milestones, discussing:

  • Progress Updates: Evaluated recent advancements and assessed results from the recent training sessions in Greece.
  • Future Activities: Defined a timeline to ensure smooth implementation of project initiatives.
  • Resource Development: Progressed on creating a Material library and Artist profile Gallery for the E-ART platform.
  • Online Residencies: Advanced planning for our unique digital residencies.
  • Awareness Campaign: Reviewed strategies to promote sustainable art practices through awareness-raising campaigns.

Participants expressed great enthusiasm about the meeting’s outcomes and were confident in the project’s direction.

What have we done so far?

1. We develop the Sustainable Best Practices Handbook, you can consult it online on our website!

2. We organize different Brainstorming sessions and Round Tables in each partner nation to discuss with stakeholders the green skills in the art sector, and the importance of sustainability in art.

4. After the research and feedback session, we started a prolific collaboration between different professionals to develop the modules of our ‘Sustain Art Curriculum’, which will soon be online! Through the curriculum we want to encourage sustainable practices in the art world by providing both theoretical and practical modules

5. In the meantime, our technicians got to work and built, in addition to the website, a platform hosting a Material Library, an Online Reporistory for the promotion of the artists and a sharing space that will be crucial for our E Residency!

6.“E-ART TRAINING”: We held the E art Training in Thessaloniki, Greece, where for 5 days partners, experts, artist and curator worked together testing and analyze each module developed for the “Sustain Art Curriculum”

Next Steps

As we move forward, our immediate focus will include specific tasks and actions to be completed, regarding the implementation  of the Awareness Campaign through articles, posts available on our social media channels. Another important step will be finalization of the Art platform through the collection of the sustainable material and artist profile. We are also planning the E-residency -a high quality 5-day online residency programme in which all partners are involved. The online residencies will facilitate knowledge sharing between artists, scientists and other stakeholders.

In addition to the residencies, there will be art workshops that will provide opportunities not only for professionals but also for emerging practitioners to network, foster new collaborations and experiment with sustainable techniques and materials.  Participants will be able to acquire specific knowledge about sustainable art, the use of sustainable materials and the creation of new projects.
